OLYMPIC GAMES NARRATIVES

We wrote narratives about the Olympic games.  We had to plan the orientation, problem solution and other ideas for our story.
Here are three great jobs!

I went to the Olympic games in London.  I went there in 2012.I went there with my Mum, Dad and my brothers and sister.  I went with my cousins too.  I did synchronised swimming.  I had to hold my breath for a minute.  I really wanted to get the gold medal.  It was my turn.  I did ballet in the water.  The rest of my team pulled me out of the water and I did a flip.  I hopped out of the pool.  I won a gold medal.

On the first week of the 2012 Olympics I qualified for the 400m sprint.  I badly wanted to beat Usain Bolt’s world record of 19.25.  My coach wanted me to win gold.  I could my Mum and Dad and my fans.  “On you marks, get set” BANG!  I got out of the gates and I was fifth place.  I sped up past 4th, then 3rd, then 2nd, then I was first on the last 300m.  I could hear my coach saying “go on, you can beat the world record and get gold.”  Also my Dad was saying “come on son, you can get the shiny gold medal you wanted so much.”  It popped straight into my mind and it made me go faster and faster and faster.  I was only 200m from gold for the New Zealand Olympic team.  I could hear every single person in the stadium.  There was only 100m left and my Dad shouted, “run, boy, run!” and I got gold and I beat the world record.  It was 19.00 flat and my coach was jumping up and down and as soon as I crossed the line the crowd went YAY!  Usain Bolt was really upset and he whispered to me, “I’ll get you next time”

Today I am going to the Olympic Games to kite surf.  I’m going with my family, coach and friends.  I’m finally there.  Tomorrow is the big day… the Olympics.  Most of today I was training with my coach (Dad)  I’m so nervous and happy that I’m competing.  I’m hoping I can verse the best man in the World.  Today’s the big day…I’m hoping to get a gold medal. I had to get my kite ready.  Ready, set, bang! Off I went.  I did some cool tricks.  They gave me an 8, 9, 7.  I was okay with that score which is 24.  At least I got through. With second place.  Next round…  Ready, set, bang!  Off I went with my kite, as fast as lightning.  I did a one hand twist.  They gave a 9, 9, 8.  That was better than last time.  That score was 26.  Now I’m in the semi-finals… Ready, set, bang!  I was off!  The crowd was as crazy as dogs barking non-stop.  I did a twist flip.  They gave me a 9, 9, 9 which is one better than last time.  The score is 27.  Now I’m in the finals.  Ready, set, bang!  I did a 360 twirl back flip. “Yay!”  I came first place.  They gave me a 20, 20, 30 which is 70.  I came first place and it’s my first Olympic Games.  Later… it’s the medal ceremony.  I’m walking in the middle which means I’m first place.  “William Holland for New Zealand gets a gold medal.”  I’m crying with joy.  They take my photo.  The judge says “now for the New Zealand National Anthem.  That’s my story.
