M.A: On 2nd August the Years 3 and 4 made up and did a production. The play was in the hall with cameras, lights and people dancing and singing to show we're brave. My part of the production was dancing and singing with my friends and it is cool. I love dancing in the production and I felt nervous and scared. I wanted to run away and scream but then it was awesome and cool. I loved it!
Welcome to Room Nineteen's Blog page. Room Nineteen is a Year 3 class at Botany Downs Primary School in Howick, Auckland, New Zealand. The teachers are Mrs McIntosh and Mrs Muir. Keep updated with news from Room Nineteen by becoming a follower of our blog. Mrs Muir had a baby in August so we are lucky to have Mrs Schwalger instead. Then in term 4 Mrs McIntosh is helping Mrs Johnston, so we have another lovely teacher, called Miss McCarra.

J.H: On 2nd August 2012, the Y3/4s performed a very cool production called Under the Sea. There were lots of people and it was very cool with the spotlights. I was the M.C and I am the first one to speak up on the stage. The children were doing it so we can show that 7 and 8 year olds are not scared of going up on stage and performing a production. Also I felt excited and a bit scared because I had speak in front of a crowded audience. Some people looked different because of the costumes. Also the evening performance was very dark outside. My Mum and Dad were very proud of me.

A.E: On the 2nd of August Year 3 and 4 performed a production. It was called 'Under The Sea'. It was at Botany Downs Primary School hall for all the families to come and watch it. It was to show our families that we are only 7 and 8 years old and we can do these fantastic productions. I felt very scared and nervous because this was the real production. It sounded like music, clapping, cheering and sea sound effects. It looked like so many lights, fish artwork, face painting, people dancing and the crowd going wild. It was an awesome production.
M.V: In the production I am Mrs Callaloo and I wear an apron. My production is in the school hall. My school did it to show that 7 and 8 year olds can learn lines. I felt scared when I performed. The production had lots of lights. Lots of people were clapping.
W.H: I felt nervous but when I got on the stage I imagined everyone was wearing no clothes and then I was amazing. The production looked cool with the spotlights and costumes. I was a character called Phillipe, a French Chef. It was hard learning the French words but luckily I am going to France. Being Phillipe is probably the best character of them all because you get to wear cool clothes and get to learn a different language and make people laugh. The play is probably the best thing in my life so far.
M.B: I am an actor in 'Under The Sea' and my name is Rev Gumbo. I am a preacher for a wedding. I can do funny actions because I am a preacher that is small. I think I was great at it!

Wheels Day
The Middle Syndicate brought 'wheels' to school today to celebrate the beginning of our new inquiry topic 'Transport- What is the best way to get from here to there'.
We had a fun afternoon zipping around on wheelie shoes, skateboards, scooters and bikes. There were even remote controlled cars and a visit from a classic car - a 1956 Chevrolet!
See if you can spot Mr Haywood trying out tricks on a scooter!
